In the first part of the book, the reader will find chapters in which the Deans that have led the faculty since 1990 describe the most important things that took place in the fields of science, research, development and education during their tenure.
The greater part of the book comprises an almanac of the history of science at our faculty, the oldest faculty of science in the Czech Republic. Here, various scientists describe the development of their scientific disciplines, the oldest of which have been developing at the faculty since its foundation in 1919.
Each chapter tells the story of a field’s growth, with an emphasis on science, development and education As there are always people behind each story, you will also find a biographical precis of selected personalities. The book is illustrated with numerous photographs, some of which are being published for the first time.
