Tomáš Kašparovský

Tomáš Kašparovský (born November 30, 1976, in Brno) is a Czech biochemist and populariser of the importance of natural substances for protecting health. He specialises in the biochemistry of plant substances and their effect on the health of plants, animals and humans. Since 2003, he has been working at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science, where he has acted as Dean since 2018. In the same year, he was elected Chairman of the Association of Deans of Science Faculties. Since 2014, he has been Masaryk University’s representative at the Council of Higher Education Institutions, taking on the role of vice-president for science and research from 2021. In 2021, he was appointed professor in the field of medicinal chemistry and biochemistry. He has dedicated himself to popularising the field of biochemistry and conveys his respect and admiration for Mendel to his students when teaching.
